Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) Distribution from PCB Waste and Vitrification by Reacting with Flux Agents

Resin, the part of printed circuit board (PCB) waste, consists harmful elements and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can cause pollution, but it also be potentially treated through vitrification. Hence, purpose this study is to investigate distribution VOCs analyze effects different flux agent types, pyrolysis duration, ratio, effect carrier gases vitrify resin waste in an atmospheric-pressure microwave plasma reactor. The resins agents - shell powder, limestone quartz sand ratio 50:50 25:75 gave best results for vitrification compared 75:25 control (absence agent). Furthermore, crystalline structures CaCO3 SiO2 dominated final residue, confirmed resin. Flux reduce propylene benzene from pyrolysis. A longer duration pyrolysis, a higher types recommended applications even though they have no significant impact on inertization statistically. Shell powder thus suggested as cost-less which create contaminants discharges.
